Understanding Your Fertile Window
Ovulation typically occurs about 14 days before your next period. The fertile window includes the 5 days before ovulation plus ovulation day itself — sperm can survive up to 5 days. Cycle tracking becomes more accurate over several months of recording.
What is the Ovulation Calculator?
The Ovulation Calculator predicts your most fertile days of the month by estimating when ovulation will occur. Whether you are trying to conceive or actively tracking your natural cycle, this tool pinpoints your "fertile window" with high accuracy.
How It Works (Formula)
Ovulation almost always happens roughly 14 days before the start of the next menstrual period. The calculator takes your average cycle length and subtracts the luteal phase (14 days) to estimate the exact day the egg is released.
$$ \text{Ovulation Day} = \text{Cycle Length} - 14 $$
The fertile window spans the 5 days before ovulation and the day of ovulation.
How to Use It
Enter the first day of your last period and the average length of your menstrual cycle (usually between 28 and 32 days). The tool will output a calendar showing your next expected period, ovulation day, and the most fertile days to conceive.
