What is the Bandwidth Calculator?
The Bandwidth Calculator is a networking tool that helps IT professionals and everyday users estimate exactly how long a file will take to download or upload over a specific internet connection speed.
How It Works (Formula)
The tool corrects the common confusion between Bytes (B) and bits (b). Internet speeds are measured in Megabits per second (Mbps), while files are measured in Megabytes (MB). The calculator multiplies file size by 8 to convert Bytes to bits, then divides by the network speed.

There are exactly 8 bits in every 1 Byte.
How to Use It
Input the total size of the file you want to transfer (e.g., a 50GB video game) and enter your current internet speed in Mbps. The calculator will output the estimated transfer time in hours, minutes, and seconds.
