What is the Golf Handicap Calculator?
The Golf Handicap Calculator helps amateur golfers determine their official playing index. A handicap mathematically levels the playing field, allowing players of varying skill levels to compete against one another fairly by adjusting their gross scores based on course difficulty.
How It Works (Formula)
This tool processes the USGA Handicap system. It takes your raw score and adjusts it against the specific Course Rating and Course Slope to calculate a "Handicap Differential" for that specific round.

Your official handicap is the average of your best 8 differentials out of your last 20 rounds.
How to Use It
Input your adjusted gross score, the Course Rating (usually found on the scorecard), and the Slope Rating for the tees you played. The tool will calculate your differential, which you can use to track your ongoing index.
