Calendar Breakdown:
What is the Date Calculator?
The Date Calculator handles complex calendar arithmetic. It allows you to add or subtract specific numbers of years, months, weeks, and days from a given date to find an exact future or past date, accounting for leap years and varying month lengths.
How It Works (Algorithm)
Calendar math is notoriously difficult because months have 28, 29, 30, or 31 days. The calculator temporarily converts the starting date into a Unix Epoch timestamp (seconds since 1970), adds the requested time mathematically, and converts it back to a readable calendar date.
$$ \text{Future Date} = \text{Timestamp} + (\text{Days} \times 86400 \text{ seconds}) $$
Epoch time arithmetic bypasses the complexities of the Gregorian calendar.
How to Use It
Select a starting Date. Choose whether you want to Add or Subtract time. Enter the specific number of years, months, weeks, or days you wish to modify. Click calculate to reveal the exact resulting date and day of the week.
