What is the Celsius to Kelvin Converter?

The Celsius ($^\circ$C) to Kelvin (K) converter is arguably the most common thermodynamic tool used in science. It translates daily weather and water temperatures into the absolute scale required for advanced physics and chemistry formulas.

How It Works (Formula)

The beauty of the Kelvin and Celsius scales is that their degree "steps" are exactly the same size. A 1-degree rise in Celsius is a 1-degree rise in Kelvin. The only difference is the starting point. Celsius starts at water's freezing point; Kelvin starts at Absolute Zero. To convert, simply add 273.15.

$$ T_{(\text{K})} = T_{(^\circ\text{C})} + 273.15 $$

The baseline addition formula mapping relative heat to absolute energy.

How to Use It

Input the temperature in Celsius. The calculator immediately adds exactly 273.15 and outputs the thermodynamic state in Kelvin (K). Note: Kelvin does not use the "degree" ($^\circ$) symbol, it is simply stated as "Kelvins".
