Dew Point Calculator
Calculate dew point temperature from air temperature and relative humidity.
Conditions
What is the Dew Point Calculator?
The Dew Point Calculator determines the atmospheric temperature at which airborne water vapor condenses into liquid water (dew). Meteorologists use dew point over relative humidity because it is an absolute, non-fluctuating measurement of exactly how much moisture is in the air.
How It Works (Formula)
We calculate dew point using the Magnus-Tetens approximation, a highly complex thermodynamic equation that combines current air temperature with relative humidity to find the exact saturation point.
$$ T_{dp} \approx T - \frac{100 - \text{RH}}{5} $$
A simplified version of the Magnus approximation for estimating dew point.
How to Use It
Input the current air temperature and the relative humidity percentage. The tool will calculate the exact dew point temperature. A dew point above 65°F generally feels uncomfortably humid and "sticky."
