What is Letter Grade to GPA Conversion?
The Letter Grade to GPA Conversion tool translates qualitative academic marks (like an 'A-' or a 'C+') into quantitative numerical values on the standard 4.0 scale, allowing students to accurately calculate their averages.
How It Works (Scale)
While high schools and colleges may vary slightly, the College Board standardizes the scale. An A is 4.0. An A- drops by 0.3 to a 3.7. A B+ is 3.3, a B is 3.0, and so on, cascading down by 0.3 points per interval until an F equals 0.0.
$$ \text{A} = 4.0 \quad \text{A-} = 3.7 \quad \text{B+} = 3.3 $$
