What is the Mulch Calculator?
The Mulch Calculator is an essential landscaping tool that helps homeowners and contractors figure out exactly how much mulch they need to buy for a garden bed or yard project. It prevents you from overspending on excess materials or making multiple trips to the garden center.
How It Works (Formula)
The tool calculates the total cubic volume of the area you intend to cover by multiplying the length and width of the garden bed by your desired depth (usually 2 to 3 inches), and then converts that volume into cubic yards or standard mulch bags.

One cubic yard of mulch covers 324 square feet at 1 inch deep.
